SLA laser Rapid Prototyping
By Nice Rapid | Apr 29 , 2020

SLA laser rapid prototyping is short for Stereo lithography Appearance, which uses photosensitive resin as raw material. The liquid resin is scanned with ultraviolet laser under the control of computer along the contour track of each layer on the predetermined parts point by point and step by step, and resin in the scanned thin resin layers experience photo poly marination and curing.

The characteristics of the SLA laser rapid prototyping:

1. High machining accuracy up to 0.1 mm;

2. Producing complex shapes (such as hollow parts), precision parts (such as jewelry, crafts), suitable for making parts in mobile phones, radio, walkie-talkie, mouse and toys, casing of high-tech electronic equipment, household appliances or models, motorcycles, auto parts or models, and medical equipment;

3. Fast manufacturing speed. Capable of scanning in 0.1-0.15 mm  layers;

4. Desirable surface quality. Capable of making thin-walled structures with fine details, convenient for post-treatment;

5. Detailed processing. Capable of producing detailed parts beyond the capability of CNC prototyping, so as to reduce the workload of post-treatment;

6. Disadvantages: The material used in laser molding has limited choice , the photosensitive resin; the toughness and strength of SLA prototypes are lower than CNC prototypes, which are easy to fracture at fasteners.

Our SLA laser molding material adopts the model 14120 photosensitive resin produced by SOMOS company in US, which has good toughness close to that of ABS and high accuracy, and is not subject to the limitation of parts with complex contours and complex structures.
