The History Development of 3D Printing
By Nice Rapid | May 14 , 2020

3D printing technology appeared in the mid-1990s and is actually the latest rapid prototyping device using light curing and paper lamination technologies. It works basically the same as ordinary printing. The printer contains liquid or powder "printing materials". After connecting to the computer, the "printing materials" are superimposed layer by layer under computer control, and finally the blueprint on the computer is turned into a physical object. This printing technology is called 3D stereo printing technology.

In 1986, American scientist Charles Hull developed the first commercial 3D printing machine.

In 1993, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology won 3D printing technology patent.

In 1995, the U.S. company Zcorp obtained the sole authorization from MIT and began developing 3D printers.

In 2005, the first high-definition color 3d printer specturmz510 on the market was successfully developed by Zcorp.

In November 2010, the American Jim Kor team created the world's first car printed by a 3D printer, Urbee.

In July 2011, British researchers developed the world's first 3D printed chocolate printer.

In August 2011, engineers at the University of Southampton developed the world's first 3D printed airplane.

In November 2012, Scottish scientists used human cells to print artificial liver tissue for the first time with a 3D printer.

In November 2013, the 3D printing company "Solid Concept" of Austin, Texas designed and manufactured a 3D printed metal pistol.

On December 10, 2018, Russian astronauts used a 3D bioprinter on the International Space Station to manage to print out the thyroid gland of experimental rats under zero gravity.

On April 15, 2019, researchers from Tel Aviv University in Israel used the patient's own tissue as a raw material to 3D print the world's first "complete" heart with cells, blood vessels, ventricles and atria, which is the first in the world.

Now 3D Printing become more and more convenient, this technology pushes forward the develop of industry. NiceRapid has the advanced 3d printing equipment and we can made good quality products. Feel free to contact us at enqiry@nice-rapidtooling.com to get a free quote.
