What are the Sheet Metal Materials in Electrical and Electronic Industry?
By Nice Rapid | Nov 17 , 2020

Sheet Metal is widely used in electronic appliances, communications, automotive industry, medical equipment and other fields because of its light weight, high strength, electrical conductivity, low cost, and good mass production performance. With the increasing application of sheet metal, the selection of sheet metal materials has become more and more. Today, let us introduce what sheet metal materials are suitable for stamping processing?

#1 General cold rolled sheet SPCC

SPCC refers to the continuous rolling of steel ingots through cold rolling mills into steel coils or sheets of required thickness. There is no protection on the surface of SPCC, it is very easy to be oxidized when exposed to the air, especially in a humid environment, the oxidation speed is accelerated, and dark red rust appears. The surface should be painted, electroplated and other protections during use.

#2 Galvanized steel sheet SECC

The substrate of SECC is general cold-rolled steel coil, which is degreasing, pickling, electroplating and various post-treatments in the continuous electro-galvanizing production line to become electro-galvanized products. Electro-galvanized products have excellent corrosion resistance and decorative appearance, and are highly competitive in the electronic products and home appliances market.

#3 Hot dip galvanized steel sheet SGCC

Hot-dip galvanized steel coil refers to the semi-finished product after hot-rolling and pickling or cold-rolling, which is cleaned, annealed and immersed in a molten zinc bath at a temperature of about 460 degrees Celsius, so that the steel sheet is coated with a zinc layer.

#4 SUS301

The chromium content of SUS301 is lower than that of SUS304, and its corrosion resistance is poor, but it can obtain good tensile force and hardness after cold processing, and its elasticity is better. It is mostly used for shrapnel springs.

#5 SUS304

It is one of the most widely used stainless steels. Because of the high nickel content, it has good corrosion resistance and heat resistance, good mechanical properties, and no heat treatment cherry blossom phenomenon. There is no elasticity.
