Points of Attention for Plastic CNC Machining Prototypes
By NICE Rapid | Jan 23 , 2020

CNC Machining is a common process for rapid prototyping, but the way of processing plastic and metal is different, because there are many types of plastics. And, the processing methods are different for different plastic materials.

So, what problems should we pay attention to when manufacture plastic prototypes?

First of all, when manufacturing plastic materials, if the product often breaks, slips, cracks, etc., this indicates that the control of knife speed is incorrect, causing the material to break easily.

Second, another problem is the choice of CNC Machining tool. Due to the different hardness of plastic and metal, if a metal knife is used to manufacture plastic, the products will easily to get crack and there will be a lot of debris.

At last, a high-flow cooling method is required. In order to reduce the large heat generated during manufacturing (the heat will have impact for accuracy of products), and to improve durability of tool, a relatively large flow cooling method is required.

The above is some of the issues to pay attention to when processing plastic prototypes. Hope to help your project. Contact us at enquiry@nice-rapidtooling.com for more CNC Machining Service details!
